Another Fast Weekend
Yawn, I did not want to get out of bed this morning...it wasn't that I didn't sleep well, just more that my bed and covers felt so warm and comfy to me today. But now I am up and looking forward to what should be a quiet day at work as it sounds like most of my client contacts are going to be in Chicago for the next couple of days for meetings. It is going to be a bit like a ghost town in the office, I am thinking.
It was kind of a busy weekend but a good one overall. On Saturday morning, we got up and headed fairly straight to Lincoln (just took a little time to get some gardening stuff done that morning) to visit Ryan's grandma in the hospital. It was good to spend some time with her (I enjoy listening to her stories) and sounds like she is doing better now that they have moved her to a Lincoln hospital vs. the small town one that she started out in. She was a little disoriented at times but the medical staff say that is to be expected right now. Hopefully, she will continue to improve...we'd definitely like to have her around a little while longer.
Then it was back home and across the river to our friend Steve's house to watch the Nebraska and USC game, which unfortunately kind of went like we expected it might, with Nebraska losing. Oh well...and then another great morning at our new church (we're going to start serving in a small aspect by helping to count the tithe money after church about 1 Sunday every 3-4 weeks), an afternoon spent at our Afghan family friends' house for lunch (Ryan needed to help them with some paperwork, plus were overdue for a visit), and then the rest of the day watching some NFL football and completing some needed chores.
Though going by too fast as usual, it was a good one in my books.
