Fun Family Day
Yay, both girls are sleeping so thought I would take a few minutes to blog. Nothing too exciting going on around here, particularly as both girls came down with colds last night -- it has been a bad winter for colds for us this year, hopefully this is the last one! And also just hoping that winter will be over soon...I am so ready for warm weather and outdoor activities (looking forward to pushing that double stroller through the zoo again).
But before the colds hit, we all enjoyed a nice family day together yesterday as Ryan had the day off for President's Day. We were going to go to the Durham Museum ("the train museum") which is right down the road from us and which we have a membership pass to (a Christmas gift from my Dad & Smom), but had forgotten that it is closed on Mondays.
So instead, we traveled over the river to the Mall of the Bluffs which has a fairly large and fun play area for toddlers & pre-schoolers (& it's free!). Maisie enjoyed climbing on frogs, jumping on padded stepping blocks, crawling through tunnels, and even some goldfish from another mom (she's not shy when it comes to food). Ryan largely ran around the area with her, and me & Annie enjoyed a bottle of formula in the sitting area around the play place. We will definitely have to go back sometime soon.
And then during Maisie's long afternoon nap (an activity filled morning often causes this) and Annie's somewhat shorter nap, Ryan and I enjoyed some separate workouts (I love my Wii Personal Trainer that Ryan got me for Christmas, and Ryan enjoyed the bike trainer from my mom) and some fun Wii Sports Resort play. Throw in some chili mac and a movie night, and overall it was a great day together.
