Baby Updates
Oh so tired this morning...we were up later than usual (watching the super bowl of course) last night and then up a bit earlier than usual this morning (thanks to early riser Maisie). So thought I would just blog some quick updates on the girls.
Annie Update: She is nearing the 4-month mark, and also then will be able to start trying out cereal from a spoon. And then once she gets the hang of that, we will move onto the pureed veggies & fruits! Can you tell that I am excited for her to reach this stage?
Annie is loving her time in the exersaucer and the door bouncer...similar to Maisie, she really likes to be able to stand up. She is still sleeping great (usually 8pm to 6am), and is so easy to put to bed at night -- such a blessing. And her "talking" is becoming more and more, along with her laughing & smiling; she is such a happy baby.
Maisie Update: She is almost 18 months old and is becoming more & more independent. As I type this, she is feeding herself oatmeal (what was my oatmeal actually) on a spoon from a bowl. She still has trouble with a fork, but if you spear the food for her, she can then get it into her mouth fairly well. Maisie also wants to be able to walk on her own all the time (most of the time anymore, she walks up the sidewalk to the car and back down to the house on our return) and climb the stairs -- we just stay right behind her as she goes up, and hold her hand coming down.
Maisie has also began to enjoy sharing her toys with her sister; almost too much at times, because I have found a pile of toys on or around Annie some days. But Annie loves it, she even didn't mind this morning when Maisie placed a little washtub on top of her head while she was hanging out in the exersaucer.
And have to add that I think Maisie had more fun at her Aunt Gretchen's Super Bowl party last night than we did (though we did have a lot of fun)...one of Gretchen's friends brought her daughter (I think a 4th grader) Maddie and she played with Maisie all evening. Maisie was definitely on cloud 9 last night, she so loves to play with other kids.
