Winter Weather
Thanks to the wintery weather yesterday, Ryan ended up getting a snow day off from school. I, of course, still had to go to work but Ryan was a very good snow day husband. He ended up getting up early with me, he made me breakfast burritos, and he drove me to work that morning.
And he ended up doing lots of work here at home on his day off...mostly cleaning chores and some demolition work down in the basement (to prepare for building two rooms, a bathroom and extra bedroom/hang-out room). I was glad to hear that he did enjoy a bit of relaxation time over lunch and watched a movie. However, think he is a bit sore now from all the work and kind of wishing for another snow day (at least the Christmas break will be here soon).
But as far as winter weather goes, it sounds like some of my other family members got hit much harder. For example, my Dad & Smom (plus sister Kelly & family) are currently living without power due to a major ice storm moving through their area. The power company has said that they will have power by the 18th (yes, the 18th)...ouch, hopefully it will come much sooner than that. But they have some gas heat, gas water heater (so no cold showers), and lots of creativity when it comes to cooking (including grilling a pizza), so are surviving right now with fairly flying colors.
I have a couple early meetings this morning, so better wrap up for now. Later!
