I'm Back
Vacation is over! But that’s ok, think I am ready to head back to work today. I came home to some good work e-mails (which I was a little concerned about, particularly given one issue which I had to respond to last week before leaving), so that helps me start back on a positive foot.
Overall, except for a few unfortunate incidents/events (but what vacation is missing some of those), it was a very enjoyable long weekend and so loved having the extra time to spend with my Dad & Smom, Grandparents, and sister Jen & Justin (don’t get to see any of them often enough). Probably one of my favorite days/moments was on Saturday when the four “Kids” (yes, that would include me and Ryan) decided to utilize the very large swimming pool at the camping resort. My Dad drove us down to the pool, then sat by the side watching us play water volleyball. Then my grandpa also came down to watch as well…definitely relived a childhood memory there, which was lots of fun. Though maybe not as much fun for them, since they had to retrieve a few balls that got bounced out of the pool. Well that is, when they could beat the “I’ll get it” kid who had joined our game; the ball could be 2 feet from me, and he would still say “I’ll get it.”
Unfortunately my Dad ended up having a really bad day on his & Smom’s last day there. He had been feeling not well early in the day, but as typical for him, trying to keep going and enjoy Silver Dollar City hoping that the pain/discomfort would lessen. But it actually got much worse instead, and right before we got on his last ride of the day, the park’s new super-fast rollercoaster. Not surprising given my Dad’s love of rides and particularly fast rollercoasters, he was still determined to ride (probably why he pushed to ride before our lunch break…stubbornness does run in the Cooper clan) though probably not enjoyable as it normally might have, but fortunately as he says, it was a very fast and quick ride.
Was afraid the day might have been too much for his colostomy, but actually turned out to be kidney stones instead (kind of good news in a way, given our other fears). But definitely know that was a very long and painful ride home to OK…when Jen had hers, just the 15-20 minute drive across town to the hospital was pretty intense. He has a couple quite large stones plus several small ones so please be keeping him in your prayers (particularly as getting into a urologist in a timely/quick manner can prove difficult). He is definitely one of my heroes and has been through so much already in the last few years, that it would be so very awesome if this could be a relatively easy fix and possibly take care of other pains/discomfort that he has been experiencing.
Ok, this is getting longer than I originally intended so will wrap up with some pictures from our time together this past weekend. Enjoy!
Jen, Justin, Ryan, & Me enjoying a very large & good dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Lambert's (home of the throwed rolls!).

My bowl of Hog Jowl at Lambert's...it is better than bacon!

Justin giving a quick wave to his beautiful wife Jen during our race on the very cool (though rough and bumpy) go-cart track.
