Great-Grandparent Time
After actually sleeping in somewhat late (closer to 7am) most of this week, Maisie decided to rise around 6am today...but that may actually be a really good thing as there is a chance that playdate is earlier today so will help me to get her a nap in beforehand.
So Ryan went for a jog this morning, and now Maisie and I are sitting down to her breakfast (cereal, a wagon wheel -- which she is gnawing on now while I type, and cheerios). Try to keep breakfast still around 7am so that her stomach doesn't start thinking an earlier time is eating time & wake her up! So on these early mornings, I just give her a sippy cup of formula to tide her over til breakfast...which she seems pretty content with (there is much playing to be done anways, vs. eating -- this morning's activity was pulling each & every bib out of her crate).
Yesterday afternoon, Maisie and Ryan actually got to go visit some of her great-grandparents (Ryan's grandparents) -- a bit of a surprise visit for them which it sounded like they all enjoyed; and I am sure Maisie did as well, she really likes all of her great-grandparents. But think Ryan was realizing that the summer is quickly coming closer to an end, particularly with him spending 17 days in Africa, so decided he had better get a visit in soon if he could.
First her Great-Grandma Hughes in Seward (a little west of Lincoln) and then back to Lincoln to see her Great-Grandparents Desch...and even got to see her Great-Uncle Jeff as well yesterday which sounded like it was a fun treat for Maisie. And then will get to see her Great-Grandparents Cooper next week so definitely getting in her share of grandparent time!
