Baby Weekly Update
Well, I finally had my first baby dream and let's just say, it was a bit of a doozy. In the dream, the baby was a few days home and we had just brought home from the hospital...and of course, it was a boy this time...but the doozy part, it was a very big baby boy! I'm talking toddler size. Yikes! Defintely need to get my arms in better shape to carry all that poundage around.
Weekly Baby Update -- Week 16:
Baby Changes: now about 6 inches long and weighs 2.5 ounces. Getting ready for a growth spurt over the next several weeks! His/Her ears and eyes are now in their final position and several of the more complicated body systems are beginning to function.
Body Changes: Uterus is continuing to grow & now weighs approximately 8.5 ounces...with about 7.5 ounces of amniotic fluid now surrounding the baby. And the increased blood flow and hormones from being pregnant should be making my face a little extra brighter & shiny, i.e. oily (yep!).
Tips for Making Pregnancy Better: Sleeping on my side has become even more important. Once you hit 16 weeks, recommended that you don't sleep on your back. Doing pretty well on my side for the most part, except for the cramping up later in the night (last few hours before waking) and then I have to do some rotating.
Hard part will be later on in the pregnancy when rotating really isn't an option...poor Ryan thinks I am "disturbing" his sleep now, just wait (but he jokes that it is prep for when the baby actually arrives).
