Weekend Highlights

You know how I feel about Monday mornings, let alone Monday mornings which make the start of the first full week of work since the holidays, so will just spend time giving some highlights from our weekend.

*Ryan finished wiring the electricity in our basement room downstairs, including a light switch (it felt a bit like a Clark Griswold moment; you know, from Christmas Vacation), four outlets, and a bit of surround sound.

*We spent Saturday afternoon in Seward celebrating Grandma Hughes' 91st birthday. Think she was happy to see a lot of us there; she had quite a few well wishers stop by.

*After a 2-week absence for family visits, made it back to our Church on Sunday morning. There are more people than chairs, so we actually bring our lawn chairs (our "church" lawn chairs...which means we just keep them in the car so they stay nice & clean) with us to use...have earned us a few comments/laughs most weeks, but definitely more comfortable than the metal folding chairs.

*Besides working through the week's worth of laundry, an afternoon of relaxing couch time (even a brief nap), NFL playoff games, and a call to my twin sis (one of our twice a week calls)...followed of course, by the latest episode of Amazing Race -- not really rooting for one particular team this season, but just hoping that the Nate & Jen couple don't win (they are constantly bickering & yelling at each other).
