An Enjoyable Wednesday Night

Considering some of the last few Wednesday nights that we have experienced (from tornado warnings to mandatory evacuations), tonight's was actually a very good one. We had our 2nd childbirth/care class scheduled for tonight, but got to enjoy some special time together before that.

Ryan had a great idea largely revolving around me/us being able to avoid the CWS traffic in the early part of the evening...instead of me driving home, us eating dinner together, and then making our way back out for class, he proposed picking me up from work (which meant that he dropped me off in the morning) and enjoying a home-packed meal at one of our local parks.

I, of course (w/ the thought of avoiding the crazy CWS crowds), readily agreed to this plan...so we enjoyed a quiet early evening at Elmwood Park, delicious salads topped with carrots, croutons, sunflower seeds, and bacon bits (and don't forget the Thousand Island dressing for me!), and a short walk along one of the park paths.

Then we headed off to class for a night learning about the different stages of labor. I thought it might scare me a bit, but it actually made me even a little more excited about Maisie's approaching due date. Know it will end up probably being a quite uncomfortable and painful (and potentially long) period of time / ordeal, but will be worth it in the end to have her out here with us. Think it made Ryan a little bit less excited...poor guy, he hates seeing me in pain but know he will be awesome support when the time / true test comes.

Overall, a very good evening...now if we could only figure out how to get the dork who has been parked in our alley for the last several hours (makes for some interesting getting out maneuvers) out of there -- OPD, where are you??
