Broken Finger & Stomach
Yesterday was a good day for the Giants (what a great game & ending), but ended up being a bit of a rough one for Ryan. It started off a little unusual than most Sunday mornings as instead of heading to church, we headed to a nearby urgent care center. In all of his basement endeavors the day before, he had suffered a small injury to his right middle finger...he worked through it and finished everything up, but when we woke up yesterday morning, it has swelled pretty good and was looking fairly bruised.
After checking out the wonderful Web MD site, decided a trip to an urgent care center wouldn't be such a bad idea so off we headed. Unfortunately it seemed that a lot of other people thought a Sunday morning trip to the UCC was a good idea as well, and so we spent most of our morning there. But we amused ourselves in the waiting room (lots of cute kids and interesting people to interact with & observe), and soon it was our turn to be the patient...and yes, it was an injury worthy of the wait -- he had ended up with a small crack in the bone of his finger. So on came a splint and w/ instructions to follow-up with an orthopedic doctor, we were headed back home.
Ryan was a little bummed as he thought this might slow down his basement work/progress (yes, this is how his mind works), but not the end of his "bad" day. Not being home long, he started not feeling so well and proceeded to not feel too well for the remainder of the day (and still now...he is taking a sick day today). It appears that he must have caught a stomach bug or something. We did make an attempt at attending our friends' super bowl party, but ended up needing to leave at half-time. Poor guy...
