Cooperina's Spot

Congrats to Ryan!

Good news today...Ryan was offered the ESL position that he interviewed for last week and gladly accepted it. He will now wrap up his work with the adult-ESL program this week, say good-bye to his students, and start with the new school next Monday (attending a couple days of new teacher meetings).

It is an alternative school program (meaning the students are ones who have been expelled from another school...but is a voluntary program, so hoping that means the students are more willing and committed to being there) that he will be teaching at, and possibly working with both junior high and high school students. Ryan has small concerns about the alternative school aspect (not wanting another Benson High experience), but believing that God is directing this path -- it definitely was a surprise call to receive the day we returned home from our Afgh. trip.

Well, better wrap up for now as I need to go work on some thank-you cards. We just received our donors list for the Afgh. team trip. That is one of my favorite parts after a trip is completed...it is kind of like Christmas, just received the gift first and now learning who all gave "gifts". There are the names that I always know will be there (like my twin sis Jen...you rock!) and then usually at least a few surprise ones which pop up...but each and every name just blesses my heart. Thanks so much! And for those of you who were unable (but know you would've wanted to if you could), thank you so much for your prayer support -- it was very much needed & appreciated.
